Yes Art, think Andy had a slip of the finger there - Friday night start - running into Saturday is my under standing.

There are a couple of shortish ones on the Northern stretch approaching S Mimms but the Dartford Tunnel is the big one. That's why they start the run from Thurrock so that everyone goes through the DT together.

Blonde moment there Col ?

As the DT goes under the Thames, it tends to go downhill first, then uphill

I'll get me coat

Cornish moment maybe!!

i know nothing about the DT, but was interested, as I know of a piece of dual carriageway near Folkestone which goes steeply up hill through a tunnel, and even without much throttle the V8 sounds like a big american racecar as it goes through, it suprised even me!! :thumbsu:

Too right Col, one of the highlights of the run to and from Dover. I think a lot has to do with the resonance as the tunnel is rounded not flat sided, it's a beauty indeed.

Not as long as the Westerchelde or Oresund tunnels but not bad at all.

Just wait until you get up on the Cheshire Run in September....we are planning to use BOTH the Mersey Tunnels to get to Liverpool and back (make sure the locking nuts are on the wheels :D :D ) Both are curved, and one has a much bigger bore than the other....(bore in the size of the hole by the way!! :D :D )
Just choose the exhaust carefully of the car you get behind on the approach as there is no overtaking once you are in there ......

Looking forward to the Oresund next June in the V8. The sound was amazing following your Daytona, no idea what it'll sound like next June!!!

I was telling David about this last week....he thinks we should join in the fun and games with you guys....I'd have to whip off my hardtop though...and do a hasty repair to my rear screen (the reason for the hardtop being on my TF in the first place!). As long as I wrap up extremely well, I'm sure I'll be okay (TN). Should be a quiet time given that February isn't the most popular month for wedding shoots so doubt I'll be booked up that weekend!

The official MGF Register charity for 2010 will be the RNLI and we have now set up a page on the Just Giving website for you to make your donations.

This worked really well in 2009 and we raised over £1000 for the Stoke Mandeville Spinal Foundation.

So......I've made this year's target a thousand pounds as well.....how long will it take you to get there ?

The starter will be the Arctic Circle Run and everyone taking part is being asked to make a minimum £5 donation and you can do that online....however you may wish to donate more and/or get your friends/colleagues/family or anyone else for that matter to add a donation to encourage your madness as well :thumbsu:

You can make your donations online here .....

http://www.justgiving.com/mgfregister2010

or you can make a cash donation on the night.

I believe Andy is putting together some 'official' sponsorship forms which you can use to help boost the money raised over the great amount collected last year :thumbsu:

Andie, how about a return to Kempenrit ? Quite by chance I was going through the list of those that were there on the opening weekend of Hotel Vé (and the 2006 visit) and there you were :D

Funny you should mention that, Adrian...! James and Chrissie whetted my appetite at the DH and Art has suggested I attend too! Do you have any info re room availability and prices etc??? I don't currently have a confirmed booking for the weekend of Kempenrit and it's very tempting to book that time off as a holiday...

Re Arctic Circle...a printable sponsor sheet for fundraising is an excellent idea...spoke with David earlier this evening and he loves the idea of taking part. He could get some more sponsorship from clients and his colleagues at the office.

Andie, all current details are in the european section. Sorry, there's a lot of reading but as you've been there, most of it will make sense to you.
