vvc performance issue?

Forum rules
Not many rules really, this board being aimed at technical issues, it shouldn't fall foul (hopefully) of some of the more personal issues that can affect forums.

Rule 1 - Is that you need to think very carefully before posting anything technical or asking anything technical relating to the security system of the car - See 'Security Issues' sticky for more info.

Rule 2 - We (MGF Register) do not support copyright infringement and therefore references to CD ROM versions of the workshop manual (for instance) should not be posted on the forum (don't want to get into trouble, we'd rather sell you a pukka hard copy through our Regalia shop anyway!) :)

Because advice is honestly and freely given in this technical section, much of it will be amateur experienced based. Therefore we are pleased that we have a professional MG trained mechanic as a moderator. Steve Tyler who owns and operates British Legends in Southend will visit regularly with his knowledge and assistance.

Have they connected the VVC actuator and the cam position sensor to the wrong sockets?

Hi There,
Im guessing the skimmed the head which as rob said above would entail re-fitting the VVC gubbins.Has the timing been checked, on both the crank side and also the rear cam belt side, as the VVC has two. The car will run out of time but will be pretty pants on the uptake and could be lumpy.
Hope this helps.

I believe Sterling have a very good reputation, they give a conditional five year warranty on their headgasket repairs! But of course the flip side of this would suggest they will be pricey - you pays your money and takes your choice.

I've seen Sterling recomended before, not seen any negative comments either.

Yes, I've seen nothing but positive comments made about Sterling. I've not used them myself, so can't comment more.
