RULES OF THE MGF REGISTER INTERNET FORUM
By accessing MG Car Club (MGF Register) forums (hereinafter “we”, “us”, “our”, “The MGF Register Forums”, “http://www.mgfregister.org/forum”), you agree to be legally bound by the following terms.
If you do not agree to be legally bound by all of the following terms then please do not access and/or use “The MGF Register Forums”.
1 We reserve the right to amend or add rules as the MGF Register/MGCC feel appropriate. It would be prudent to review these rules regularly yourself as part of your continued usage of “The MGF Register Forums”. We will post any rule changes on our forum and you agree to be legally bound by these terms as they are updated and/or amended irrespective of when your agreement to post on the forum was granted.
2 Our forums are powered by phpBB (hereinafter “they”, “them”, “their”, “phpBB software”, “www.phpbb.com”, “phpBB Group”, “phpBB Teams”) which is a bulletin board solution released under the “General Public License” (hereinafter “GPL”) and can be downloaded from www.phpbb.com. The phpBB software only facilitates Internet based discussions, the phpBB Group are not responsible for what we allow and/or disallow as permissible content and/or conduct. 3 You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, defamatory, hateful, threatening, homophobic, illegal or any other material that may bring the MG Car Club (MGF Register) into disrepute or may violate any laws, be it of your country, the country where “The MGF Register Forums” is hosted or International Law. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned, with notification of your Internet Service Provider if deemed required by law. The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions.
4 Your username, signature and avatar should also agree with condition 3. If the MGF Register consider any of these to be offensive or not in keeping with the nature of the forum then you will be asked to alter it. If you fail to do so then the MGF Register reserve the right to edit your public details on your behalf. If you alter these to return the original name you may be banned under condition 3.
5 You agree that “The MGF Register Forums” have the right to remove, edit, move or delete any topic or posting at any time should we see fit. The decision of the moderator or committee of the MG Car Club( MGF Register) will be final and must be respected by the user. This will include links to websites offering goods unrelated to the MGF Register or any unauthorised commercial postings.
6 You will normally be warned of any breach of the rules or any post removal. Warnings will generally be given unless the breach is so serious that you are immediately banned. Continued breaches of the rules after warning have been given will also lead to the user being permanently banned. We reserve the right to delete postings without explanation.
7 You agree to any personal information you have entered being stored in a database. Neither “The MGF Register Forums”, MG Car Club or phpBB shall be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised. Personal information will be kept in accordance with the Data Protection Act. It may be used for MG Car Club purposes only and will not be passed to third parties without your consent. Passwords are kept in encrypted format and are not accessible by any administrators or moderators.
8 Any user retains the intellectual rights to any posting or photograph created by themselves, however by posting such material, or links thereto, on the MGF Register forum you automatically assign permission to any Centre, Register or Branch of the MG Car Club to use any information or photograph contained in posts without prior consent of the user. The MGF Register reserves the right to use any such material in postings directly on its forum or links to user created material, whether text or photographs, for purposes of promoting the MG Car Club or MGF Register by publication in other mediums, usually FasTForward or Safety Fast magazine. Photos and text may also be used on other promotional material for the MGCC and MGF Register such as banners or advertisements. Such postings will assume copyright of the MGF Register and the poster. Original photos or text will not be used for other commercial purposes without permission of the original poster. Should the poster not wish their material to be used in this way then a statement to this effect must be included in their original posting.
9 The MGF Register Forums are run as a service to the MG Car Club (MGF Register). You do not need to be an MGCC member to use the forum however the MGCC(MGF Register) reserve the right to make certain Bulletin Boards available only to MGCC members as they see fit.
10 The views posted on the forums are not those of the MGF Register or MG Car Club but those of individual forum members. The forums are moderated and any requests by third parties to remove posts for any reason contained in Rule 3 will be actioned by placing the thread or posting concerned in a quarantine section offline. The posting will then be considered by the MGF Register committee and if it is felt that it should be permanently deleted this will be done and any actions as necessary taken as under Rule 5. If it is felt that the request was unjustified the post or thread will be re instated.
