Forum rules
Not many rules really, this board being aimed at technical issues, it shouldn't fall foul (hopefully) of some of the more personal issues that can affect forums.

Rule 1 - Is that you need to think very carefully before posting anything technical or asking anything technical relating to the security system of the car - See 'Security Issues' sticky for more info.

Rule 2 - We (MGF Register) do not support copyright infringement and therefore references to CD ROM, PDF versions or paper copies of the workshop manual (for instance) should not be posted on the forum. We don't want to get into trouble and we'd rather sell you a genuine hard copy through our Regalia shop anyway! :)

Because advice is honestly and freely given in this technical section, much of it will be amateur experienced based, so any information is given in good faith and is not guaranteed as correct.

How to adjust fse power boost valve?

Post by Yigit » Thu Nov 01, 2007 10:09 am

A friend here fitted fse boost valve to his VVC together with a pressure meter. He adjusted it himself but his fuel consumption rose twice. He says with a full depot he can go 250kms! He says he adjusted it to 3,2 bars at idle. He first heated the car and when the revs fell to 750-800 he adjusted it manually. He is asking how should the adjustment be done? He does not want to go to rr but wants to set it manually. He says he read on Rob's site that a trophy benefited from 3.2 so he set his to the same but he wants to know if he should set it at 0.5bars less at idle (i.e. 2.7bars) to get 3.2 at full throttle.

hi there 250 kms on a full tank is not very good I would ,and get 400 mls to a full tank( 50lts) to convert kms to mls havle the kms and then add the first number, eg 80 kms =40 + 8 not 100% correct but close. So 250kms is only 145 mls to a full tank = 3 mls per ltr should be 7-8+ mls per ltr

sorry - yeah about 38-40 on a run is what I meant!

I must have a slightly heavier right foot than you! :)

I get 25/26 out of the 260, but thats a real smile with every mile :D and a sountrack almost second to none!
