MG40 TF20 POO

MG40 was held on the hottest day of the year in a field next to Toddington Railway Station on the Gloucester & Warwickshire Steam Railway. Despite the hot weather there was a good turn out of Post Abingdon MGs on both days of the event.

The entrance fee was a donation split between the charities of all those modern Registers taking part in the event. Over £3500 was raised with over £500 going towards the MGF Register’s Charity – the Camphill Wellbeing Trust.

F/TFs next to Toddington Railway Station

The Register took the opportunity to hold a TF only Pride of Ownership competition on the Sunday to mark the 20th anniversary of the TF, with a nice selection of cars taking part. The Overall winner was Trevor Orpin and the runner-up was Adrian Miles. Steve Greenwood took the third-place rosette. The standard was high and our judges, former MGF Reg treasurer Ron Kemp and his wife Joan, had a hard job in marking – so much that they nearly missed their ride on a steam train!
