The MGF Register annual awards, in a change to tradition, were presented at this year’s MGLive! event at Silverstone. The presentations took place in the stage arena and were shown on the big screen with some missing recipients being presented later.
The awards are nominated by the committee, reps and members and confirmed by the Chairman who can also present special awards at his discretion.
So, congratulations to the 2021 award winners:-
| Tanswell Trophy (Members of the Year) | Kim & Bernie Tiller | For supporting the TV Region and providing the Spectra Disco at the Christmas bash |
| Priest’s Trophy (Significant contribution to the club) | Rob & Jane Parry | Jane is secretary for the Register and Rob a Rep. They also support the register by working on stands and providing cars for display. |
| Brian Griffin Sports Trophy | Steve Jackman | For building his own Sprint/ Hillclimb MGF and a successful campaign in the 2021 season |
| Photographic Cup | Leigh Crane | The winner of the 2021 Photographic Competition |
| FasTForward Trophy | Phil Rigby | For his articles on a Rookie Racer |
| Dee Walker Trophy for MGF/TF of the Year | Dougie Butcher | For his 85th Anniversary recreation TF – winner of the MGF25 Pride of Ownership |
| It Could Have Been a Better Day Award | Phil Rigby | For breaking his ankle in a cycling incident just prior to a race meeting stopping him competing |
| Special Award 1 | Michael Murkin, Philip Hayward, Ian Wright, Tim Morris, Nigel May | The main organising team behind MGF25 |
| Special Award 2 | Helen Blake | For her enthusiasm and support of the club raising the Register’s profile on social media. |
